E-2 Treaty Investor Visa

For investors developing and directing a real, operating U.S. business based on a substantial investment.

About this category

The E-2 Treaty Investor visa allows eligible foreign nationals to live and work in the United States based on a substantial investment in a real and operating U.S. business. To qualify, the investor must generally be a national of a country that has a qualifying treaty with the United States, must have invested or be actively in the process of investing capital, and must be coming to the U.S. to develop and direct the enterprise. The investment must be substantial in relation to the type and cost of the business, and the enterprise cannot be marginal — it should have the capacity to generate more than minimal income and support business growth. For E-2 cases, ILIC CONSULTING prepares business plans and supporting documentation that explain the investment, business model, market opportunity, operating strategy, hiring plan, and financial projections.
